It’s been two football seasons since Colin Kaepernick knelt for the national anthem to protest police brutality and the lack of conviction drawing the ire of many and the praise and support of few. Using how Kaepernick protested and was eventually blackballed by the NFL we examine how white Americans want their black athletes to “stay in their place” and never criticize injustice in America.
